Double standards

So, I am a massive football fan, I have been brought up in a football orientated family with a very strong sense of pride over the team I support. Bearing in mind, in my household there are 4 women and 1 male. All 4 women support Arsenal and my dad is a Brentford fan.
We all love our football, we all played, studied sports, go to games etc.

I love being able to talk to other people who are just as passionate about football (and other sport) just as much as I am. I have had a lot of heated debates with lots of people due to everyone supporting other teams.
I know a lot of Spurs fans (unfortunately) and can take the banter and the rivalry when it comes to derby day and what not, at the end of the day, I'm not going to lose a friendship over a game.
BUT what really winds me up is when you get ignorant men that make the comment "I hate it when girls try talking football" ... and what is wrong with that?
Tell me, why do you HATE girls talking football? Does it embarrass you? Is it not a 'relationship goal' of yours to watch football with a girl or take her to a game? What is so bad about a girl talking about football so passionately about? Are you afraid she has more knowledge than you...?

When I'm chatting to a new bloke and I tell them I like sports, I have never had him turn round and laugh at me for it. We end up having great conversations about sports and are generally quite impressed with my knowledge (don't mean to sound big headed).

I thought we lived in a society where a girls knowledge on football doesn't matter. I love getting involved in all the banter about football and for a while, wanted to be a sports journalist. Would a bloke not read an article on football that was written by a girl then?
I just don't understand where that narrow minded opinion comes from because I'm sure a man would be more than happy to see a girl wear a football shirt (if it was their team obviously) or if a woman presented a sports show E.G Gabby Logan on MOTD.

So, please feel free to tell me what's wrong about a girl talking sports...
